And no Business Associate Agreement to negotiate over the dictation itself, because we never receive it — there is no processor of that content to contract with. One-time, in USD. Updates within the major version included. A seat is a Mac, and it can be moved between machines whenever someone changes computer or leaves.
For comparison, sixty seats of a per-user cloud dictation subscription runs from roughly $5,760 to $21,600 a year, at the $8–30 per user per month those services publish. Altypist at sixty seats is $1,080, once.

What your IT team gets
- MDM deployment. Ship the app, push a configuration profile containing the licence key, and each Mac activates itself on first launch. No key typed on sixty machines.
- No accounts to manage. There is no directory to sync, no SSO to configure and no leaver process — because there are no accounts at all.
- A published architecture your reviewer can work through, and an open-source recognition engine they can inspect rather than take on trust.
- Seat visibility on request. We can tell you how many of your seats are in use and free one when a Mac is wiped or replaced.

What your compliance reviewer gets
- No transmission to assess. Audio and text never leave the Mac, so there is no disclosure to a third party in the first place.
- No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporter. The only network calls the app makes are a one-time model download, licence activation and an update check — all three are listed on the architecture page.
- No training on your data. Not as a policy commitment but as an architectural fact: we never receive it.
- A DPA ready to sign, short precisely because we process almost nothing on your behalf — and explicit about where every sub-processor sits and which transfer mechanism each one relies on.
What we do not have, stated plainly
You will find this out during procurement anyway, so here it is up front:
- No central admin console. Seat reporting is something we run for you on request, not a dashboard you log into. That is a direct consequence of having no accounts.
- No SOC 2 report. We are a small vendor. What we can offer instead is that there is no service to audit — the software runs entirely on your hardware.
- Invoicing is being set up. We can take an organisation through to a signed quote now; payment by invoice and bank transfer follows shortly. If that timing does not work for you, tell us and we will say so honestly rather than stringing it out.
